I never thought I would write a blog post about scissors. Scissors are perhaps (unless you are a leftie) one of the least thought about stationery items there is. Chances are you have a set in your desk drawer or pencil holder. What could be new or different about scissors that would be worth reading??
Deli 4.5” Fashion Mini Series Scissors
I may have found the answer! I found this interesting set of foldaway scissors made by Deli at a new Japanese-style dollar store called Thinka Creative (), which is a new chain that seems to be opening up with stores in Canadian malls offering an eclectic product mix. The majority of their products are $2.00 CDN, including these travel sized scissors.
How they work
The great part about these scissors is that they fold up into a pen sized travel case. The cap clips securely into place, much like a good pen. I feel that these are unlikely to come apart and create any scissor related accidents - and I may even consider running with them! In case you need washi tape on the go.
The scissors swing open nicely when you remove the cap and the body swings open to become the two handles. These handles are spring loaded, and the blades are sharp. I am very impressed with how precisely and effortlessly they cut!
I purchased these in the more masculine blue colour. Also on the shelf were a lime green set and a white set.
These are a great tool for someone that needs smaller paper and tape cutting. The design is excellent, the quality (for a dollar store item) seems to be very good and they will be making their way into my pencil case for daily carry. I do recommend them.
